The court conducts all applications for court-ordered inpatient mental health treatment on location at the county mental health hospital, which also include hearings for the involuntary administration of psychoactive medications.  In addition to the cases filed by the county mental health hospital, eight additional private hospitals also file commitment applications.  Recommitment hearings for long-term hospitalizations are filed by North Texas State Hospital and are heard by the court via video conference.
