Jail Facilities Project

Completed - The Jail Facilities Project provided for new maximum security jail facilities. The new jail facilities include over 400 inmate cells designed and constructed to manage high risk, high security inmates. The project includes new jail medical facilities and a new booking area. The capital budget for this project was $108,000,000.

Courts Building Project

Completed - The Courts Building Project provided for the construction of a new courts building in downtown Fort Worth. The new building relieved overcrowding in the existing court building and provides for future court system expansion. The new building provides space for 10 existing civil district courts and for two future courts. The five-level building houses the civil court functions of the district clerk and jury services. The capital budget for this project is $62,300,000.

Juvenile Services Campus Expansion Project

The Juvenile Services Campus Expansion Project provides for the construction of a Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program school building, juvenile detention facilities and additional administrative areas. To improve security for families, visitors and court staff, and to improve court operations, the four existing courtrooms will be replaced with five contiguous courtrooms. The main public entrance and the parking facilities will be upgraded. The capital budget for this project is $36,320,000.

Medical Examiner's Office-Crime Lab Expansion Project

Completed - The Medical Examiner’s Office-Crime Lab Expansion Project provided for the construction of expanded crime investigation and laboratory facilities, crime evidence storage and administrative areas. The project included a stand-alone bio-hazard morgue building equipped to handle autopsies that require containment of chemical and biological contamination. The capital budget for this project was $26,500,000.
