Historic Preservation Council for Tarrant County

Historical Note

The Historic Preservation Council for Tarrant County was established in 1979 as a coalition of thirty organizations whose central objective was preservation action in Tarrant County. Shortly after organization, the Council decided to sponsor a historic resources survey of Tarrant County to be completed in seven phases, conducted by architecture and planning firm Page, Anderson and Turnbull of San Francisco. Much of the research conducted on individual properties was completed by the Council members and community volunteers.

The Historic Preservation Council for Tarrant County disbanded in the 1990s and transfered copyright of the Tarrant County Historic Resources Survey to Historic Fort Worth, Inc.
