Determination is the key to keeping healthy goals
The new year always presents a chance for anyone to make a fresh start. I'm not just talking about the typical New Year resolutions, like getting organized, quitting smoking, etc.
I'm talking about that inner determination we each must develop to accomplish whatever goal we set for ourselves. And any goal that can improve your health is a worthwhile goal no matter what your age or condition.
One way to go about that is to start some simple habits that you can easily do until you don't have to think about them. For instance, if you want lose weight, you'll need to do some exercise on a regular basis. Taking the stairs up or down one or two flights is simple enough. Work those muscles you don't often use, especially if you've been sitting for hours. Get your heart pounding a little harder. Our muscles need working out and our hearts are mostly muscle. Giving it a small workout regularly will strengthen your heart while it builds your endurance.
Can't find a close parking spot? It's ok. A little walk is actually good! In fact, a five-or-more minute walk on a regular basis helps your health in many ways.
My point is, if you're going to make some worthwhile, health-related resolutions or goals, get specific and outline what you will do on a daily or weekly basis to meet those goals; then become determined to do it, at least for a month or two or three, until it's a habit. There are lots of ways to form good habits
