Green Card / I-693
After refugees have been in the U.S. for one year and one day --and have met all medical requirements, the Refugee Clinic can help them complete the medical portion of their I-693 application for their permanent residency (Green Card).
These are the vaccination requirements:
1. For adults born 1956 and before:
- Three doses of Tetanus-Disptheria (Td). One dose must be Tetanus-Diptheria-Pertussis (Tdap)
- Two doses of Varicella
- One dose of Measle, Mumps and Reubella (MMR)
2. For adults 18 year old and up, but born after 1956:
- Three doses of Td (one dose must be Tdap)
- Two doses of MMR
- Two doses of Varicella
3. For children (11 years to under 18 years):
- Three doses of Hepatitis B (Hep B)
- Three doses of Td (one must be Tdap)
- Three doses Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) / Inactive Polio Vaccine (IPV)
- Two doses of MMR
- Two doses of Varicella
- One dose of Memngococcal (MCVu)
4. For children (Seven years to under 11 years)
- Three doses Hep B
- Three doses of Td (one must be Tdap)
- Three doses of OPV/IPV
- Two doses MMR
- One dose Varicella
5. For children (four years to six years)
- Three doses Hep B
- Five doses Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (DTP) / Diptheria, Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis (DTaP) (one dose must be Tdap)
- Four doses OPV/IPV
- Two doses MMR
- Two doses Varicella
6. For children (one year old to under four years old)
- Two doses of Hepatitis A
- Three doses of Hep B
- Four doses of DTP/DTaP
- Four doses of OPV/IPV
- Two doses Haemophilus Influenzae Bacterium (HIB) vaccine
- Two dose MMR
- Two doses Varicella
If applying for Green Card during flu season (Oct. 1 through Mar. 31), a flu shot is also required.
