Hon. Jim Wright Collection
Summary: Hon. Jim Wright served as a representative from Texas' 12th congressional district as a Democrat from 1955-1989. From 1987-1989, Wright served as the 48th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Wright was born in Fort Worth, Texas and studied at Weatherford College and at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1941, he enlistd in the United States Army Air Forces and earned a Distinguished Flying Cross for combat in the South Pacific during World War II. Wright donated the following two calendars.
