BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Jamie Powell Sheppard, both a Photographer and Photograph Archivist, started at the Tarrant County Archives as a volunteer in 2017. She served as an Assistant Archivist from 2018 to 2022, when she moved up into the Assistant Archives Officer position. While Jamie is particularly interested in 20th century photographic processes, she also collects ephemera related to Tarrant County. These items, which tend to be overlooked, can offer more detail about the subjects, hint at the social atmosphere of that time, and even illustrate a history of changes in graphic design. One of Jamie’s hobbies includes roller skating, and she collects materials related to roller skating in Texas.
