Michael Erwin McClary Collection

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Michael Erwin McClary found items associated with the Tarrant County Nurse's Aide Corps at a flea market in Missouri and donated digital copies of the materials to the Tarrant County Archives. The Nurse's Aide Corps was established by the Tarrant County Chapter of the American Red Cross during World War II. The Nurse's Aides were volunteers who helped fill the need of nursing staff in local hospitals during and immediately after the war. 

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

The Michael Erwin McClary Collection contains digital copies of materials that belonged to Mrs. Langford Carlton who served as the secretary of the Tarrant County Nurse's Aide Corps. The materials include bulletins, documents, and buttons from the Nurse's Aide Corps and the National Tuberculosis Association. The materials are dated from 1920 to 1946.
