Measles Exposure in Grapevine, TX
April 4, 2025 – (Tarrant County) Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has been notified that an individual who visited two Grapevine, TX venues between March 28 and 30 has tested positive for measles and was infectious while at the venues.
Exposure Locations & Dates:
- Great Wolf Lodge (Hotel & Indoor Water Park)
100 Great Wolf Dr., Grapevine, TX 76051
Dates: Between early morning, Friday March 28 through the evening of Sunday March 30, 2025.
- Grapevine Mills Mall
3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy, Grapevine, TX 76051
Date: Saturday March 29, 2025
Activities of Note: Walking around the mall and eating at the food court
Tarrant County Public Health is working closely with the Texas DSHS Regional Office and other partners to monitor this situation.
Measles is a very contagious disease passed from a person to others via the air or contaminated surfaces and can lead to serious health complications. Measles can remain in the air for up to two hours after an infected person has left the area.
If you were at either of these locations during the specified dates and are not vaccinated against measles or are unsure of your immunity, you may be at risk of contracting measles.
What You Should Do:
1. For people who were at one of the venues on the dates listed above who are:
- Unvaccinated and pregnant
or
- Immunocompromised (receiving treatment that would result in immune system suppression, or have an immune system disease),
TPCH recommends you contact your health-care provider immediately to discuss the possible exposure.
2. Anyone who was at the venues on the dates listed above should monitor themselves for measles symptoms through April 20, 2025. Those symptoms include:
• Fever ≥101°F (38.3°C) AND
• Cough, runny nose, or conjunctivitis (red eyes)
FOLLOWED BY
• Red, blotchy rash that begins at the hairline/scalp and behind the ears, then progresses down the body.
If you develop symptoms:
- Stay home and away from others.
- Contact your healthcare provider for guidance.
- Call before visiting a clinic or hospital to prevent possible exposure to others.
Measles is highly contagious but preventable through vaccination. Please ensure your Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccinations are up to date.
