From the entertainment district in Arlington, Texas, home to the Texas Rangers, to the historic downtown of Mansfield, Texas, and all across our wonderful precinct, we create a vibrant, inclusive, and harmonious environment. Indictment of Detention Officers
Fri Jun 28 08:00:00 CDT 2024 - This morning, it was announced that two Tarrant County detention officers were indicted for murder in the death of Anthony Johnson, Jr. While inadequate mental health support resulted in Mr. Johnson needlessly being in the jail, this cannot excuse what followed.
Transfer of Kai'Yere Campbell from Tarrant County Jail
Mon Jun 24 08:00:00 CDT 2024 - Commissioner Simmons’ Statement on the Transfer of Kai'Yere Campbell from Tarrant County Jail. I am pleased to share that Kai'Yere Campbell, the intellectual and developmentally disabled 21-year-old, with the cognitive ability of an eight-year-old, has finally been moved out of the Tarrant County Jail. Kai’Yere was relocated to a state supported living center (SSLC).
