Tickets/Citations
This Justice Court receives traffic tickets/citations issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Tarrant County Constables, Game Wardens with Texas Parks and Wild Life Department and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office. Once they are filed with the court, a courtesy notice is sent by mail to the defendant's address listed on ticket. Courtesy notice will list payment options, due date and how to enter a plea of not guilty, guilty or nolo contendere. See below for more information regarding each plea option.
Plea of Not Guilty:
If defendant chooses to plead NOT GUILTY and have a trial ,must notify the Court in writing and specify "trial by Judge" or "trial by jury." The defendant has a right to a trial by jury and to be represented by an attorney, if desired.
- If previously entered a plea of NOT GUILTY and would like to pay the fine instead, you will need to contact the Court.
Plea of Guilty
If the defendant chooses to plead GUILTY and pay fine, they must remit payment in person, online or by mail prior to the scheduled court date. Payment Plans may also be requested.
Failure to post bond or pay the fine within the appearance date/ 10 days from the date the ticket/citation is filed with the Justice Court, will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. The court will not accept payment from a third party without a plea from the defendant being entered.
- If paying the fine after business hours online and has an active warrant on your case, the warrant will not be recalled until the next business day. If paying by cashier's check or money order, must be payable to: Justice Court, Precinct 7. Personal checks will not be accepted
- If the defendant is a juvenile you will not have the ability to pay online, must come into the office to make payment.
